Roscoe is such a sweet fellow! He has the happiest, sunniest personality – always glad to see you, content to just be with you. He would be a wonderful companion for either a single owner or a family. He gets along well with everyone – adults, children, and other dogs. Roscoe is a trim 42 pounds with a soft, wavy coat. Although he’s 9 years old and is being treated for an autoimmune disorder, he has plenty of energy. Mr. Perky would be a good nickname. When we pull up in the driveway, he’s eagerly looking out the window, singing a little song. When we come in the door, he stands on his hind legs and dances like a circus dog. The magic word “dinner” brings him bouncing into view with springs on his feet. Sometimes he gets so excited his teeth chatter, clickety-clack. Roscoe has quite an appetite, and he drools with the silliest grin on his face. We have to keep our counters clear of food to keep them clear of Roscoe! He responds well to “sit” and “come” and is a fast learner who would benefit from more obedience training. He’s quiet and mellow in the house as long as he gets regular daily exercise. Roscoe loves walks and the dog park. Using a Sensation Harness solves a tendency to pull on leash.

Last fall Roscoe became seriously ill and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. After a successful treatment, he is currently maintaining well on relatively inexpensive once daily meds. These are hard on his liver, so our vet is running a test to see if additional medication would help. Roscoe is heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations, and in good condition except for some high liver enzymes. This sweet, happy guy needs a new family to cherish and love him through his senior years. Will you share your home and your heart with him?
