Dog Story:
My name is Carley. Am I a looker or what?  Everyone keeps telling me I am a very strikingly marked Britt but heck, I'm not sure what that means. I think it has something to do with being pretty though.

Everyone at LaBest where I am being boarded just loves me to death and I get along great with all the dogs I get to play with in doggie daycare. I also get handled by lots of the staff and do just great with them as well. I am a bit more shy when ABR has me sit at Petco with them and I am on a leash and have a lot of strange people wanting to touch me. I am better if I can get to know you first and then once I am familiar with you the hugging begins. 

I have a ton of energy for sure and I wiggle so much it can be hard to get my collar and leash on sometimes. I'm up, I'm down, I'm over on my belly, I twist, I spin....you know, the typical Brittany dance of joy. I am not a Brittany for the novice Brittany owner and I will need an environment where my mind will be put to good use and not just a happy couch potato.

My history is one of  misunderstanding. My owners wanted their vet to euthanize me because I growled and snapped at the toddler. Little did they know that I had two long-standing ear infections that made me very head shy. I am just getting over them now and this will be something that will have to be managed with the right kind of food and weekly monitoring and cleaning. I am learning that my ears don't hurt anymore, but this is most likely what makes me more guarded at first with strangers.

I could really use a fosterhome or foster to adopt situation down here near where I am being boarded so I can get back to living in a regular environment prior to final adoption. A barrier fence is a must. Another canine playmate would be a plus. Homes with small children will not be considered at this point in time, nor will sight unseen or long distance adoptions. It's important that EVERYONE in the family, pets included, have a meet and greet prior to a final decision to make sure it's the best match for all.
