Dog Story:
Last April when ABR picked up Sid from a shelter in Chicago he was a very hungry, very tired and very, very sick dog. The first month was spent sleeping and eating and slowly gaining his strengh back.

To our surpirise this dog, who we all thought was at death's door, gained 15 lbs in four weeks. Sid is thought to be between 11 or 12 years old. As he gained strength his personality began to show and you could see the bounce come back in his walk. He has had no trouble getting along with our other three dogs. In fact, he was soon part of the pack. He even gets along with our grumpy cat.

After about two months Dr. O’Brian, who works with Brittany Rescue, felt it was time to address the poor condition of his teeth and gums. After a good cleaning and a round of antibotics you could see the improvement in the way Sid felt. As each day goes by Sid becomes more loving and affectionate. He has become fond of his nightly walks. In fact, he has no problem reminding us when it's time. Now, like many older gentlemen, Sid can only hold his bladder for about four hours. So he would do best in a home where there is someone home most of the day. No one knows for sure how long Sid has, but whether it’s months or years he still has plenty of Brittany love to give.

History:
Sid was found as a stray in Chicago and brought to the Anti-Cruelty Society where he was rescued by ABR.
