Description:Dog Story:
Hello, I'm Jake and I am looking for a really great home to call my own. I turned 5 on August 3 and I have so much to offer my forever home. Let's see...where does one begin? First off, I'm a big boy, almost 50 lbs and that is mostly muscle. I am also very tall, about 23-24 inches. I'm very fast on my feet so you have to watch out....look away for one second and I may be in a different spot! I love to play with other dogs and am also very good around the cat. I am very gentle around the smaller dogs in the house. will even get down on the floor and and allow them to crawl over me and will even teach them how to play properly.
Foster mom here! For Jake's size, he is a very docile Brittany. Not an Alpha in the least. He loves to work and could use a job that keeps him stimulated. (Could dock jumping or agility be in his future?) Jake does know sit and stay and we are working on making that longer then a few seconds. He is good with our grandchildren who are small. Jake will be one that after he learns his boundries, and has bonded, will not require a physcial fence as he will dig out of ours and yet circle around and come back. This could make Jake an excellent hunting dog with the proper training. He does the zig/zag and then circles back around. He will positive re-inforcement to bring out the best in this boy.
If you would love to have some excitment in your home, Jake is the boy to make that happen as he is full of life!! Please fill out the adoption application and we will get the process rolling. Jake is up to date on his vaccines, is heartworm negative and on heartworm preventive.
History:
Jake (his former name was Dawg) lived in an outdoor kennel 24/7. Based on the scabs to his underside, he may not have been allowed out very often. So he escaped...not once but four times. The last time the owner said he could no longer afford the bail plus he needed to be neutered, so he surrendered him to the shelter who immediately contacted ABR.
